Sherlocks finally arrive

Jambo[hi] We are in Kenya!

Short version:
Apartment is lovely -jesse  says flasher than home!
We have been really warmly welcomed and looked after. We were all rather shattered after 21 hours in the air with very little sleep i.e. 1 or 2 hours tops

Finlay says: "we are in a house now it is cool"

First impressions of Nairobi.

Jesse says "interesting, educational"

We are living in a really well off part of the city, with many gated apartment communities. This means security guards at the gate, and high brick fences 3-4 metres high, with  8 electric wires around the top. Our front door has 14 locks on it!

We have been to the local shopping mall for groceries, again security is ever present with guards searching vehicles at the car park entry and needing to go though metal detectors to go into mall.

On our trip to the mall we met two people that we have connections to!

But we are feeling very safe and secure, and looking forward to seeing more of Nairobi, - not just the part that we are in.

kwaheri from the Sherlocks

Will post more soon.

    1. Hi Jack, Some of the guards have guns, We saw one at the mall using his
      as a walking stick !
Oliver We got off the [plane and hopped on a bus to get to the terminal building. We had to line up and have our passports checked and we bought visas so we could travel around east africa. Next we waited for our bags to come through on the baggage train. Then a lady called Esther picked us up with Daniel Bigfoot - the safari van driver. We fell asleep so we don't remeber much else until 5:30 the next morning when we woke up!
